Click play for 3 Out of The Box Etsy Store Tips You May Not Have Tried
Hi again, and welcome to Craft Business of the Week, where I showcase a crafter, who is doing great things with their online business, either on Etsy, their own website, or on social media.
Today, I’m in an Etsy store that I really like. This is LL Always, and there’s three things that really draw me to this store.
Show Them What They Are Getting
Number one, I like the packaging that is used here. Now, you’ll actually have to just pop into a listing, and look at one of these photos, and what you can see is that in each listing Linda, who owns this store, actually includes a picture of the packaging, in each listing.
Now, I really like this, because you can tell straight away that she takes a lot of care with the packaging. It’s beautiful, there’s a little note there, it’s just absolutely stunning, and I really like what she’s done with that.
She is doing a great job of building the anticipation for her customers by showing them what they could be getting…
Shipping Can Be A Reason People Don’t Purchase
The second thing that I really like…if we go back to the home page of this store…is there’s a shipping code here. If you spend $50, you get free shipping, and then there’s a coupon code that you can use during checkout.
Now, this does two things in my opinion.
1. It might actually push people that … Maybe were on the fence about buying … They weren’t too sure. They go, “Okay, I get free shipping, excellent, I’ll go ahead and buy.”
2. The second thing it could do, is encourage people, because there is a $50 limit that they have to reach, before they get that free shipping. People that were going to purchase anyway, will probably just purchase that one extra item, to push it over that spend limit, so that they can get the free shipping. It could encourage a bigger volume of sales.
Don’t Be Afraid To Be Yourself
Now, the third thing that I like about this store, is just me being suckered in by something cute. You’ll notice, if you go to the LL Always About page…if you scroll down, you’ll see there’s Linda (who owns the store) and underneath, she’s got an interesting little worker here. She’s got Lola, the best dog friend!
I think that’s amazing. That’s such a good way to communicate a little bit of personality, in what could have otherwise been a cold, Etsy store, she’s got something in there that straight away makes me relate to her.
I’ve got a dog as well. I see that in there, and I go, “Aww, that’s really cute.” It’s a great idea.
That type of thing might not work for everybody. You don’t necessarily have to do it, but I just thought it was a little bit different and showed some personality.
Quickly wrapping up…the three things that I really like about this Etsy shop;
ONE: is the packaging and the fact that she’s taking the time to show you what you’re going to get, in each listing.
TWO: I like the fact that she’s trying out some discounts or giveaways, or coupon codes, and that’s in the form of free shipping in the shop announcement there.
THREE: The third thing that I like, is the inclusion of her little furry friend, as a shop employee. I thought that was a really cute, personal touch.
Now, let focus on you for a second.
