Click play for an Etsy Shop With A Point Of Difference!
Hi again and welcome to Craft Business of the Week, where I showcase a crafter who’s doing great things with their online business either on Etsy, their own website or on social media.
We’re back checking out another Etsy store today and I’ve taken you to EllaGTees, I actually really really like this shop and let me tell you three reasons why.
Tell Me About Yourself
First of all I really enjoy the about page of this store, I think it’s everything that an about page should be, it’s really simple, there’s just a little bit of text, they’re telling you about the store and who owns it and then she’s got some really personal photographs there. Straight away you can see that she’s a family lady and that must be super duper important to her because that’s what she’s trying to portray to you.
Also she let’s you know that the inspiration for her shop name came from her daughter, which is beautiful.
If you scroll down she has said, “I’m a stay at home mom with a 13 year old boy and a six month old baby girl.” And then she tells you a little bit about her story and how it came to be that she went from being a dental assistant by trade for 16 years to becoming a stay at home mom with a thriving Etsy business.
Every Day She’s Hustling!
You can see that she’s had nearly 1400 sales in the space of about 7 months, which is just absolutely brilliant. That brings me to my second thing that I really like about this store and that is that the hard work that she’s put into this store is so evident.
Now for everybody that has a brand new Etsy store and you’re struggling a little bit and people would tell you, it can take a year or two or even more to get traction, this lady would have worked her backside off to get those nearly 1400 sales.
She must have had excellent routine or productivity, especially with the little baby, to get this done and I’ll explore some ways that you can get more done in most time in later video.
How Are You Different To Your Competitors?
Thirdly what I like is the way that she’s chosen her point of difference.
A point of difference, basically, is the thing that you decide is going to differentiate you from other people that do the same things, so your competitors.
What’s evident to me, in the couple of minutes that I spent looking around this store, is straight away she’s decided that her point of difference is going to be extraordinary customer service, and she’s already conveyed that to me with her banner, because it says, “Extraordinary Service” and then it also says in the shopping announcement. “My mission is to provide my customers with creative qualities and funny tees with extraordinary customer service. It’s not the last time I hear her mention those words in this store.
What I can imagine is if I was to purchase a t-shirt I already feel save purchasing because I know that she places a really high importance on making sure that I’m happy as a customer.
Wrapping up quickly, three things I really like about this store.
ONE: The personal touch in the about page is really great.
TWO: The hard, hard work that must have gone into this store, I really honestly take my hat off to you.
THREE: The point of difference that you’ve chosen by committing yourself to extraordinary customer service, I think that’s probably one of the reasons why your business is so successful. Is because that is what we all want when we’re making a purchase.
Now let’s focus on you for a second…
