Today I’m talking about 5 things that a new shop should do to increase traffic in the first month on Etsy.
So perhaps you just opened an Etsy store and something that I get asked a lot is, okay now I’ve opened up, put some items in, there’s some listings there, what do I do next?
5 Ways To Increase Traffic in the First Month on Etsy
I’ve come up with five things that you should do to increase your traffic in your first month on Etsy.
#1 Make Sure Your Shop Is COMPLETELY Set Up
First up. Make sure that you’ve completed all of the sections in your store and by all of the sections, I’m talking your “About page”, your “Policies”, make sure that you have a banner, make sure that you’ve included your owner/buyer information and make sure that you’ve uploaded a good profile picture.
Completing all of these sections makes sure that you have a store that’s finished and that helps to build trust when people go to the store and have a look around.
#2 Get Into The Habit Of Listing Often
Now, adding to these is making sure that you build up a nice big bunch of listings.
To do this, I suggest that you add a new listing everyday, because Etsy seems to like frequency and I find that your traffic will get better if you do add a listing everyday, other than just adding them all at once.
Yes it can take a little bit more work, you have think about doing it every single day, but if you try it, try and experiment for a couple of weeks, add a listing every single day, and then let me know what that does for your traffic.
#3 Promotion Can Make All The Difference
Think about spending a dollar a day promoting these new listings.
Why not turn on your promoted listings, set it to a dollar a day and see what happens.
Now, of course you have to make sure that this is actually in your budget and you have to make sure that you do set it at a daily limit that you can afford. This is really important because you don’t wanna be spending money you don’t have but if you can afford it, experiment!
Set it a dollar a day and see what promoting listing does for your traffic.
#4 Get Involved In The Community
Think about joining some Etsy teams.
I think that too often we decide to go Etsy alone, so we don’t really get involved in a community, we don’t join any teams, we don’t get to know other sellers, and this can be and actually really lonely road to go down.
Hop into the Etsy teams, find some people that are either selling things similar to you, have similar interests, perhaps you live in similar towns, have a look go and join some Etsy teams.
This can also help you learn more, learn more about traffic and increasing your traffic, and it could also give you some opportunities to perhaps collaborate with other people and help you build your traffic that way.
#5 Pin, Pin, Pin
Set up a business pinterest account and learn how to use it.
So once you’ve done everything on Etsy that you need to be doing and you have a little bit of spare time now to concentrate on driving traffic.
